I was pondering over these words in the book “Divine Beauty: The Invisible Embrace” by John O’ Donohue:
“In contrast, the Beautiful offers us an invitation to order, coherence and unity. When these needs are met, the soul feels at home in the world.”
I think that while beauty cannot be adequately defined in mere words, this description gives a glimpse of what beauty entails. Beauty is experienced when we feel like a homecoming in our spirit, as the writer put it. There is order in beauty, such as how beautiful music is played and the energy vibrations cause our cells and our soul to be in alignment and be at peace and harmony. A piece of music is played following a certain order of rhythm and coherence, and when there is unity in the instruments, the music breathes life into our soul and evokes a sense of awe and beauty. The mystery of beauty itself lends an air of grace and elegance to its very nature of being beautiful.
